October, across the world, is known as Diversity Awareness Month. This is a particularly exciting year for us at One Beyond to celebrate with our re-brand, acquisitions, and continued focus on Diversity and Inclusion.

We are incredibly grateful to have always had such varied backgrounds and nationalities across our different entities, but since our mergers this has certainly only strengthened, and this month offers us a chance to celebrate this. Branching out across the globe has made us stronger as a company, not least due to having more diverse voices and teams. It’s also hard to ignore the fact that our growth has led to us having a much wider pool of gender inclusion, across all levels of the business inclusive of our Leadership Teams. As a well-positioned Software Company, this is so exciting!

The benefits of diverse teams are well-documented, but did you know:

  • Racially diverse teams report a 35% increase in performance compared to competitors
  • Organisations with above-average gender diversity and levels of employee engagement outperform companies with below-average diversity and engagement by 46% to 58%
  • 67% of job seekers consider workplace diversity an important factor when considering employment opportunities

On a long-term note, it’s important for us to use this month as an opportunity to take stock of all of our diversity and inclusion policies, which the HR teams consistently review in the background along with all other paperwork. Alongside this, ensuring we look at other avenues of diversity going forward will only continue to make us stronger as a company.

Now that we are remote-first, ensuring we remain inclusive is crucial and at the forefront of our minds. Alongside that, as a company with a notable population of Neurodivergent people, we must continue to ensure the ways we hire and work are considering as many perspectives as possible.

On a final note, we at One Beyond are aware and considerate of the fact that “Diversity and Inclusion” isn’t just one thing: it’s multi-faceted and intersectional by nature. We are continuously looking to celebrate our differences and improve our Diversity and Inclusion.
